Intermodal services are different solutions that combine transport by road, rail or barge and enable the transit of your cargo to the inland destinations.

OCL has been a leader in developing intermodal connections, especially in North Africa, Central Africa and North East Africa. We were among the first to offer dedicated intermodal services from Egypt to Sudan and to COMESA countries in 2005-2006. In December 2010, we have launched our barge services in the Bay of Bengal region to and from Bangladesh and within Bangladesh, the first of its kind in Indian Sub-continent. In the near future more dedicated unit trailer, train and Reefer-on-Rail services will be added to many of this network.

OCL's pan-European network of intermodal connections covers 40 major ports and places throughout European nations. OCL were operating three separate dedicated Intra-European services connecting Western Europe with the Scandinavian and Baltic region and with Iberia. These provide prompt connections with the deep-sea services to and from Asia, Indian Sub-continent and North America, as well as offering Intra-European services to help customers develop new markets.

In the USA and Canada, rail service dominates intermodal transport. OCL will work in a close relationship as well as partnership with all major rail service providers (BNSF, Norfolk Southern, CSX, Canadian Pacific, Canadian National, Union Pacific) providing one of the fastest and most reliable services into the heart of North America. Regular double-stack trains connect ports of the East and West coasts to major inland destinations and distribution centres.
